Yaralla House is an outstanding Victorian Italianate mansion set in extensive grounds and complemented by several original outbuildings. The building has high architectural, social and historic significance for its association with the prominent Walker family and architects, Edmund Blackett and John Sulman. Yaralla, covering an area of 37 hectares, occupies an important part of the Concord peninsular and contains several buildings and gardens of historical interest.

Waverley

In June 2008 I spent a sunny winter afternoon in Waverley with my camera. I enjoyed photographing the Waverley Bowling Club and the old water tower. It was late in the afternoon just before sunset and there was a beautiful warm light. Just by looking at some of these photos its hard to actually tell what year they have been produced.

Sydney Opera House presents Luminous – an annual festival of music, debate, light and performance. Curated by Brian Eno, this inaugural year features a plethora of music acts alongside public talks and spectacular light and art installations from May 28 to June 14.

In a brilliant display of colour, Eno will launch Luminous with the lighting of the sails, transforming Utzon’s masterpiece into an artists’ canvas.

Industrial Structure

I had a change of heart. Well the truth is it’s STUVAC time and I can think of many things I would do rather then study for my Applied Econometric Modeling and Production Economics exams. So I decided to delete everything on this blog and start a fresh. This is my creative outlet and I need it to get away from everything else in my life.

The other day I was training in the indoor cricket academy in Mortlake. I had noticed on many drives before some very interesting structures in the area. The whole suburb used to be an industrial estate. Now it is being gradually converted into blocks of units and large water front properties.

I found this wonderful run down estate and I couldn’t go home without photographing it.
